Location in Maryhill, Glasgow
« on: Friday 07 September 18 17:23 BST (UK) »
Yet another document I'm struggling to decipher - attached is a clip from the birth document of my 2x Great-Aunt Agnes McInnes or McGinnes who was born in Maryhill on what looks like the 13th March 1871.
I believe the last 2 lines read Maryhill Parish and possibly McLenaghan's after the time of the birth but other than that I'm stumped.
Suggestions, as usual, much appreciated!

Hi Jim
I agree with all of your deciphering.

I would say the following:
1871
March
thirteenth
10h 30m PM
McLenaghan's Rd
Rockvilla
Maryhill Parish

McLenaghan's Rd

Hi,

I don't think it is McLenaghan's Rd.  Instead, it's McLenaghan's Ld, with Ld standing for 'Land' i.e. a tenement or building that belonged (or had belonged) to someone called McLenaghan.

Agree with everything else  ;D

Best wishes

Many thanks to you all for responding. I'm into double figures for having documents deciphered on here with positive results on every occasion!
I can find absolutely no trace of a McLenaghan's Road which makes me lean toward McLenaghan's Land. I have similar addresses throughout my family tree - Brown's Land, Bishopbriggs, Mason's Land, Old Monkland etc. so I'm happy to accept that as the address.
Thanks again guys.

Jim
