« on: Friday 07 September 18 18:12 BST (UK) »
There is a record for a John Bay's in a book. I've used Google and everything I can find a category or official title to find the online version of this book. Does anybody know? Thanks

The item is referenced here ...
https://en.geneanet.org/library/doc/5575732/quarto-notes-vol-2

Quarto Notes, vol. 2, dates from 1912 and looks like it may be manuscript or typescript, rather than printed. It includes abstracts and transcriptions of probate records. The BAYES item quoted above is on p. 170 and relates to a transcription of the will of Thomas Bayes of Coventry, which was proved in 1619.

The register copy of the will of this Thomas Bayes is held at the National Archives and is catalogued here...

http://discovery.nationalarchives.gov.uk/details/r/D912504

It can be 'previewed' via a link on the above page. Or it can be or seen in full on Ancestry, in the database England & Wales, Prerogative Court of Canterbury Wills, 1384-1858 (search on Thomas Bayes 1619).

The image (as seen on Ancestry) has a marginal note alongside the probate clause, showing that administration was granted to John Bayes, Thomas’ brother, on 6 February 1620, because the original executor, Richard Moy, had declined to act as executor.

ADDED - Quarto Notes is held in the LDS Family History Library, as catalogued here, with links to view each volume online ...
https://www.familysearch.org/search/catalog/260292?availability=Family%20History%20Library

The Bayes item in vol. 2 turns out to be p. 169 (not p. 170).

Wow awsome! Thank you! I'm going to check it out. Now I wonder if Thomas Bayes had a son born about 1619....?
