Thanks for the list Kay; looking forward to a repeat of Brian Blessed.....with both have a bookbinder called Jabez, although mine sometimes called himself James.....so helpful. ::)

I can remember the Brian Blessed episode really well. I used to live near Brigg  (and work there ) where he went into the small house where his ancestors had ilved.

The Judge Rinder episode was wonderful, but very very sad, but I cringed all the way through the Brian Blessed one.  I didn't know of Robert Rinder's Jewish background, but it echoed the story of two Hungarian ex-patriots we stayed with in their B&B in San Francisco 10 years ago.  She was 79, and still found it hard to walk as a result of a death march in the WWII.  He was even older, and for 12 mornings we had breakfast with them, and how I wish I had been able to record their tales.

Brian Blessed is the only one of those I would watch again.
Hinchliffe - Huddersfield Wiltshire
Burroughs - Arlingham Glos
Pick - Frocester Glos

Millie, I just wanted someone to tie his hands down and put a bag over his head, for easier watching.  When they unearthed a document identifying an ancestor as 'An idiot', I thought I saw the resemblance.

To be honest, I think the BBC cover a good range of personalities; there`s somethng for everyone.
