Seeking Help, Arthur Davis Marriage

I am trying to find out about Arthur Davis, and his second  “marriage’.

The information I am fairly certain of is:
Birth Dec Qtr 1858 at Lambeth District, Vol 1d, Page 276

I have him, aged 3 in 1861 census with parents Thomas and Elizabeth at 1 Clifton Place, Lambeth, Surrey

In 1871, aged 13, he is still with parents at 3 Victoria Street, Lambeth, and he is employed as a clerk.

On 8 Feb 1875 he marries Kate Ward, with an address of Spring Gardens, Lambeth

They have two children, Walter born 19 Apr 1875, in Southwark, and Ellen Alice, born 17 Jan 1879 in Lambeth.

In the 1881 census, he is in Southwalk, with wife Sarah who is shown as born in Ilchester, Somerset

In 1891 and 1901, he is with Sarah, but in 1911, he is with his daughter Ellen and family, shown as widowed.

Any help to find out what happened to Kate, about whom I have very little information, and Sarah from Somerset. Did he actually marry Sarah, was Kate dead, or did he live with Sarah with Kate still alive.

I  have been trying to sort them out for a long time but, at this stage, to no avail.

On the marriage Kate Ward is 21 and her father is named as Charles Ward occ Builder.

the Marriage says Arthur is 21, If your dob is correct he was actually 16.  So perhaps Kate was too?

In 1881 the Arthur that I can see with Sarah born Ilchester living Southwark area has no children with them

added - and in 1891 he is with his father and Sarah in Hackney Road.

Where was Ellen in 1881 and 1891 and 1901? found
I see her in 1911 married to Arthur Chesters (in 1903)

I am assuming you are tracking back Ellen who married Arthur Chesters in 1903.

Her father Arthur Davis was born Camberwell - he is age 55 in 1911

The 1881 census Arthur is said to be aged 30, and Sarah (of Ilchester) is aged 31.

OK, so no.

I see Walter and Ellen (both reported as born Brixton, Surrey)  in Chelmsford with their grandparents Thomas  and  Elizabeth DAVIS
Mary Thorogood a widowed sister age 75 and a servant
