Marriage Norton St Mary 1722

Looking for the maiden name of spouse re marriage 9 April 1722 at Norton St. Mary, Gloucestershire.
William HOLDER married a Mary.  Was her maiden name also HOLDER?

Is Norton near Owlpen and Painswick?

No! ;D

Norton (and Bishop's Norton and Prior's Norton) are a few miles to the north of Gloucester City.
Owlpen is much further south (near Nailsworth & Slimbridge).
Painswick is also south of Gloucester, but about 11 miles from Norton.
Garrad (Suffolk, Essex, Somerset), Crocker (Somerset), Vanstone (Devon, Jersey), Sims (Wiltshire), Bridger (Kent)

The image for the parish register confirms that William Holder and Mary Holder were married on 9 April 1722.  Son William is baptised 14 January 1723.  Both events said to be at Norton.
Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids.  They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.
Remember - "They'll be found when they want to be found" !!!

There are around 342 HOLDER Licences/Marriage Allegations (sometimes there are 2 transcript per couple i.e. Licence and Marriage Allegations).  There are also some early HOULDER/HOWLDER.
