What other information do you have?
If that is him in 1911 he is 49 yrs , abt 1862 so that would be before civil registration began in 1864

Son is Henry Daniel in 1911 b Galway.

Birth here for Daniel, son of Thomas, Railway Porter and Mary Spelman, Galway.

Marriage here
Thomas McGorrigle, Private 76th regiment and Mary Spelman, Castlebar

He is full age in 1881 and no father’s name given

Could these records be your family?

Just seen your post and it is not him!
However, have left this info up because you may be able to find him through marriage links.
Who did your man marry?
Children?

There is a baptism for John McGonigal 1862 with parents George and Mary

What was his status on his marriage?
Is there any chance that the two men could be the same person?

it took me a while to cross off the earsdon mcgonigal. He served in the 76th regiment, however, my grandfather served in the donegal artillery and the dates simply dont match. My grandad married emily olga clark in tynemouth in 1914.the other J.T.Mcgonigal had a family in the north east but my granddads army record clashes with the earsdon mcgonigal.I wish they did as my quest would be over. My granddads father was william Mcgonigal.I dont know his mothers name. All army records state he was born in shankill, belfast but as yet I cant find even a baptism record.I am wondering which records are not on line , knowing my luck so far, he was baptised in a church whose records are not digitalised yet.
