Nathaniel Unwin
« on: Wednesday 12 September 18 10:27 BST (UK) »
In 1836 Nathaniel Unwin married Susan Ellis in Milton Cambs. Subsequent census results indicate his birth to be about 1811. He lived most of his life in Impington and died in 1902.

Can anyone see his birth details and/or his parents. ?

Since there was an older Nathaniel Unwin and wife Susan Unwin living in Impington it seems a good bet that these were his parents.

I noted on FindMyPast baptisms for Impington that a one or two entries stated 'Unwin or Onion' (or some kind of variation).

I would suggest that this is the baptism you seek:

Nathaniel Onion bp.9/12/1810 Impington, Cambs. son of Nathaniel and Susanna.

Well found. I did a search for "Unwin" with variants without success, although it did find Martha Unwin or Unium or Onion.
I searched for "Onion" and found Nanathiel (1810), as you said. I then found a Nathaniel Onion bap. 1777 Hadstock Essex. The 1851 has Nathaniel snr birth place as Essex.

Maybe all the Unwins of Histon/Impington are really "Onions" ... they did start Unwin Seeds after all.

I couldn't find a marriage for Nathaniel snr and Susan.
