EDWARDS, Norman C ("Shorty") - Okanagan-Boundary region, British Columbia

Hi everyone.

I am looking to see if I can find more information about Norman C (“Shorty”) Edwards who married Pauline J Brooks.  The minimal information I have indicates that both Norman and Pauline are deceased although I do not have specific dates or locations.

A 1965 voter list shows Norman and Pauline living in Cloverdale.

Voter lists for 1972 and 1974 show Norman and Pauline living in Bridesville.

A daughter of Norman and Pauline marries a son of Leo Delisle (born about 1918, died in Rock Creek in 1990) and Mary Ann Lautard (born in Carmi in 1923, died in Oliver in 1979). 

I am particularly interested in finding information about Norman’s birth or parents as I am looking to potentially link Norman to my paternal grandmother’s family.

A 1965 voter list shows Norman and Pauline living in Cloverdale.

In the 1963 voter list, Norman C. and Pauline were at the same address as the 1965 list, living with Norman's retired father, also a Norman.

My informant did not know Norman's first name, only referring to him as "Shorty", and also did not know Mary Ann's name, so it's not entirely surprising if they got Pauline's surname wrong.

Thank you so very much.  This has answered all my questions.  Norman Senior is my grandmother's uncle.  I was not previously aware he had any children at all.

I have an item that once belonged to Norman Senior that the family might be interested in having.

Glad to have helped!  I had no luck finding out what became of Pauline, but as Norman's death reg. states they were divorced, she may have remarried.

I have solved the riddle of Pauline's surname.  Her parents were Finley Robinson and Jessie Brooks, so my informant has listed his grandmother's maiden name as his mother's maiden name.

Anne Tocher Ewen, born 1885 Meigle, Scotland, died 1950 White Rock, British Columbia

Norman Charles Edwards, born 1927 Vancouver, British Columbia, died 1997 Oliver, British Columbia.

This was clipped from the Vancouver Sun on Newspapers.com by a KMosher on August 5, 2020 who may a relative:

EDWARDS -- December 2, 1964, Norman Edwards of 13846 40th Avenue, Cloverdale, aged 78 years; survived by one son, Norman, Cloverdale and one daughter, Mrs. F. Zimmerman, San Francisco.

I don't see a death record for an Anne Tocher or Anne Ewen in British Columbia that matches the ages/year you've given.
