Help finding baptismal record of my 6th Great Grandfather
« on: Thursday 13 September 18 15:02 BST (UK) »
I'm looking for any help I can get on where to look for a baptism record for my Great Grandfather John Anderson, born in Northern Ireland in 1698. I think he may have been born in Antrim but I don't know for sure, he emigrated to the US some time before 1724, as I have his marriage record for that year in Connecticut, he married Margaret Dixson, who was born in Antrim as well, as far as I know. I'm trying to find out his father's name so that I may hopefully continue with my paternal line as far back as possible...

Welcome to RootsChat
Was John Anderson CoI or RC.
If CoI than this thread will be of interest
http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php?topic=800252.0
If RC https://registers.nli.ie/
but you need to be aware not many records survive for the 1600s and even if you do find a John Anderson how will you know it's the correct one without already having either of his parents names?
You may already be back as far as you can go.

Thanks for your reply Sinann, but could you tell me what COL or RC means? I'm not familiar with those abbreviations
