« on: Thursday 13 September 18 23:18 BST (UK) »
Hello my Scottish research is not up to date but my 92 year old aunt Glasgow  has recently done DNA so id really like to attend this event and some days visiting graves  museums churches streets inGlasgowarea  Cambuslang  especially

I live in Leicester ....so transport costs are going to be high
Any ideas how to keep costs of stay to a minimum.

The event itself  very cheap...

Email the society for advice.

Give as much info as possible regarding your areas of interest.

There are great transport links between Motherwell and Glasgow

It costs abt £3 to £4 for a 10 min train journey from glasgow to motherwell there are plenty of B & Bs in and around both destinations as well as hotels also a very good bus service between the two (this journey is a wee bit longer abt 60mins as it visits everything in between) for a all day ticket costing no more than £6 i think which entitles you to use the same bus company service as many times as you like for the day or around £15 for a week hope it is rewarding for you and you enjoy the visit.

Thanks for your help

I think I'm going to have to leave it this year as can't finance such a trip unless I earn more also I'm researching my mother's side and I may get confused if I switch to the Scots.

If anyone is going let me know .I'm sure it will be fascinating
