I have not seen the public tree on ancestry. Will try searching again. Can you tell me the name of the person who created the tree?
I don’t have the birth certificate of the child of Leonard but I have seen the entry in the register. I do have the later adoption certificate that names Leonard as the father.

Thanks for the feedback but I don’t think this is the Hudson family that I am searching for. According to the marriage certificate Leonard’s full name was Leonard Michael Hudson and the father’s name was William Edward Hudson. I think I may be mistaken with regard to the Derby link.

That’s why I asked what your original source was......

I am sure everyone on here has examples where people add second names they weren’t given at birth

Why did you think there was a Derby connection?

Is the name of the father likely to have been provided second or third hand?

Big Pools Winner Now Destitute

Not long ago Leonard Michael Hudson (42) won a large sum of money in a football pool.
But when he was arrested he was destitute and roaming the streets, it was stated at West London yesterday

There were three possible indications, Leonard’s name, his year of birth, his father’s second name matched the information on the marriage certificate. I know it’s tenuous but it’s the only connection I have been able to find. This seems to be a false lead but at least I can cross this one off the list. Thank you for your help.

I am intrigued by the reference to Leonard Michael Hudson in the Dundee Courier and tried to follow up on it but I can’t find the item in the newspaper, how did you find the reference so quickly?

With regard to the Marriage Certificate it is for the marriage of Leonard Michael Hudson to Margaret Joan McCausland.
