I just can't find a second marriage to Mr Lawrence/Laurence which is frustrating.

We'll keep trying.

At least we now have the search narrowed down:
First husband Clarence Charles Turnbull PEREIRA died India 1913
Son Marcel LAWRENCE born 21.8.1925 Bengal, India.

If dawnsh finds details of Marcel's father from the birth record it could help us find out if he arrived in India between 1913-25 and narrow the search even further.

Marcel who I was told went by the name of Tony Lawrence worked on the ships was born in Kidderpore, India. My Grandmother Phyllis May Duncan Pereira was Kate Madelines and Clarence Charles daughter. Marcel was her half brother. Phyllis was put in a Raj Convent School in Calcutta some time after Clarence died. Kate remarried and went back and got her at some point. Thank you again for all of your help.

Hi Sally

I have an image of Marcel's baptism from the British Library for you.

His father is named as Roger LaUrence

Please send your email address by pm and I will send it on.

The BL only have approx 70% of the India Records, the rest have been 'lost' in the passage of time or never deposited when they were supposed to have been.

I checked FindMyPast and the The Times of India online archives to see if there was a marriage announcement but couldn't see anything obvious.

Thanks for the update. Disappointed to note the 70% figure.
