Martin + MacDermott/Mulligan - Ballyfarnon & Mullany/Mattimoe - Aughoo
« on: Sunday 16 September 18 17:54 BST (UK) »
My grandfather John Martin's first cousin Anna Josephine Martin married Patrick Joseph Mullaney 7 Aug 1941.  Im wondering if the Martin had ancestral connection to Patrick Joe Mullaney's family.

Please let me know if you have information about
Martin surname in the Crossna area
MacDermott/Mulligan from Curnagrea and/or
Mullany/Mattimoe from Aughoo.

Curnagrea, in Roscommon where Patrick Joseph Mullaney was born and where he raised a family with Anna - looks to have been once owned by his maternal grandfather Michael McDermott and his grandmother Bridget Mulligan.

1901 Census showing Michael and Bridget McDermott and daughter Bridget Jane.
http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1901/Roscommon/Crossna/Cornagrea/1658421/

Bridget Jane McDermott was born 6 Dec 1886.

Michael McDermott (son of Bernard) and Brigid Mulligan (dau. of Charles) married 01 Mar 1869 (church) 15 Mar 1869 (civil).
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Patrick Joseph Mullaney's paternal grandmother, Catherine Mattimoe was from Aughoo, Crossna, Keadue, Boyle, Roscommon.

Patrick Joseph's father Michael and grandfather Patrick and grandmother Catherine in 1901
http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1901/Roscommon/Crossna/Aghoo/1658366/

I found 26 Feb 1871 marriage certificate for Patrick Joseph's grandparents Pat Mullaney and Catherine Mattimoe

I found 22 Dec 1882 birth record for Patrick Joseph's father Michael

Thank you.

Kathy

Thank you Hallmark,

I'm really hoping to find other researchers for families in these areas so that I can run some theories by them from reading history of the area.

I'm not really looking for any particular records.

Thanks!
