Hi,
I have been researching my wife's side...Kellys born in Peterhead and have got all the details except for one....A Robert Kelly born 1878 in Peterhead....
Notes on him....
1881 Census...Lived with complete family at 73 Broad St., Peterhead.
1891 Census...73 Broad St., Peterhead...aged 13yrs...Message Boy.
There is a Robert Kelly in the 1901 Census at St. Machar aged 22 yrs...Not him as census says he is a nephew of a Simon Michael and Jane Michael...all born Aberdeen...Definitely wrong one.
1911 Census...There is a Robert Kelly aged 32 in the Merchant Navy...On ship "Hildebrand"....Is this our Robert Kelly.?

Also searched for a marriage for him...Viewed 3 on S.P. and not him!!
Difficult to trace Robert Kelly...
He may have emigrated to the USA or elsewhere.

Who are the members of this family - particularly the parents?

Have you looked for his parents deaths to see who reported them?

Looks like William Kelly and Catherine Philip(s) are the parents(LDS 1881 Census and births on Familysearch).

According to "Ancestry" the R Kelly on board the vessel HILDEBRAND in 1911 was born in Liverpool. HILDEBRAND was registered in Liverpool.

Hi there I'm assuming his brothers Alexander and David immigrated to California ?

His last residence was Glasgow ..going to brother in Oakland ( David union bakery )

1903/1905 Robt Kelly /Kelley listed in US City directories occupation baker at Log Cabin Bakery

1910 Census Robert Kelley age 32 single born Scotland occupation baker is lodging at
Oakland Ward 5,Almeda California ( year of immigration 1900)

1920 Census Robert Kelley age 42 single Scotland occupation baker lodging Sacramento Assembly

You are correct David and Alexander Kelly both went to America and opened bakery business.

Thank You very much indeed...Looks like Robert Followed his brothers...
Looks like he never got married.

I would never have believed that Robert could be traced...Thank You Rosie and Rootschat.

Robert's brother Alexander Kelly died in 1933. His obit mentions his wife, children and brothers David and Robert Kelly. He was buried in Mountain View Cemetery.

Robert's brother David P(Philip) Kelly died in 1960. His obit only mentions his late wife and no mention of Robert. Was Robert already deceased or moved out of the area? David was also buried at Mountain View Cemetery.

Based on the census records and the two obits, all three brothers were bakers
