The James living at 33 Arthur Street, is indeed Roberta’s uncle. I hadn’t found this census return before as I was looking down at Leith rather than the Arthur Street in Canongate. He must have stayed in Edinburgh when Malcolm’s family moved down to Ashton. I am going to check out this family further as if Roberta went back to her uncle for Marion’s birth she may have done the same for her son.
