Georgina Catherine Waddington or Wyllie
« on: Wednesday 19 September 18 17:47 BST (UK) »
Georgina Catherine Waddington was born in Arbroath, Scotland, on 5 February 1881. Her parents were Thomas Waddington and Elizabeth Allardice.

On 18 July 1902 she married David Jamieson Smart Wyllie, born 17 March 1879, son of David Jamieson Wyllie and Helen Anderson Alexander.

They had a son David, born in Scotland in 1904/5. They then emigrated and went to Connecticut, where two more children were born; Elizabeth in 1907/1908 and Walter in 1910/1911.

In the 1920 census David Sr, described as married, was in the census in New Haven, Connecticut with the three children and his sister Margaret, described as housekeeper.

What happened to Georgina? She didn't die in Scotland. David remarried before the 1940 census.

Ancestry tree shows a death date for Georgina of 25 December 1919 New Haven Connecticut - but sadly no source given.

EDITED - *Sandra*'s findings above disprove my idea.  Ah well, it was just a thought.

I know there is a conflict in the detail, but have you considered 1920 census
Connecticut, New London, Norwich Town, William W Backus Hospital
WYLIE, Georgiana, housekeeper, 34, married, parents both born Ireland.
If the census enumerator was taking details from an employer there are more likely to be inaccuracies.
It could be worth tracking this Georgiana to prove or disprove her.

Thank you all. Most useful. I'll take a closer look at those bits of information.

(In passing, I wonder why my PC never finds anything on Findagrave?)
