Need help dating a Gaulers photograph/postcard

Hi,

I have this photo and I'd like to identify the people in the photo, but I can only really do that if I know the date of the photo itself. It seems (like many photos) it is on the back of a postcard, but the back seems to be the other way round (upside-down). Both individuals in the photo appear quite young.

I would appreciate any help given.

The soft hairstyle and round flat collar on the woman’s blouse give me the feeling it is 1930’s.
The high stiff collar the young man has is also of that time.

My view is 1920's.

The most usual hairstyle for 1920’s was the bob but of course not everyone had it.
Also not everyone was up to the minute fashionwise,
I have photographs  of my mother ,one 1920’s and one 1930’s.
She would be 34 in 1930 her hair was very like the style in the photograph we are trying to date.
She would be quite fashionable as she had a good job and was not marrieduntil 1933 so would have quite a few fashionable clothes.
Anyway neither of us will be a mile out so the poster has something to go on.
I do think they are attractive people.

Just to add that the stamp box was in use from 1913-29.

So it could be either way,up to late twenties or if the photographer had a stock of that type of post card he could have used those until they were used up.
I have a photograph of me taken 1939,there is no stamp box on the back of the P.C.
I am interested to know the occasion as well as a reasonably accurate date.
Perhaps an engagement photograph if so do please post any of the wedding if you have any.

Thank you all for your input, I apologise for the late reply. Unfortunately, I don't know the occassion of the photo.

I might have another photo of the couple here.

I have a few thoughts of who they might be based on the photo being taken 1920/30s.

1) Edith Gauler (born 1895) and Oliver Morgan (born 1894). They married in 1923. Attached is a photo of her in 1936 with her nephew.

2) Ena Gauler (born 1906) and Donald Irwin (born 1900). They married in 1925. I haven't got a known photo of this couple.

3) Could they be siblings???

Looking at the hair parting in the known photo of Edith with her nephew, I'm not sure whether she is the lady in the original photo. It's hard to say, what do you think?
