Welcome to Rootschat

The 1841 shows Matthew aged 31 so birthyear around 1810

Have you checked Scotlands People for a birth?  www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk

EDIT

1851 - he is 49 so BY = 1802??

Just checked SP and he is not the 1813 birth in Kirkmabreck as he can be found in Scottish censuses

Given my edit above - there is an 1801 (19.8.1801) birth in Kirkmabreck - father David

Names of children in order may help with parentage if you can identify children named from his wife's side?

McKean could also have numerous variants if it's anything like my Kean lot;

"Kean, Kain, Kaine, Kane, Cain & Caine

I have seen numerous others on transcriptions too"
