Youghal British Legion hospital / hostel
« on: Saturday 22 September 18 18:31 BST (UK) »
My great Uncle returned from WW1 with shell shock and lived the rest of his life in the Youghal British Legion hostel ( and possibly in the mental home). He died between 1942 and 1957 and we can find no record of his death (In National Archives) although we know that he was buried in Aglish churchyard. Does anyone know where the records might be kept?

Give a man a record and you feed him for a day.
Teach a man to research, and you feed him for a lifetime.

Found him by Googling British Legion Dungarvan
https://www.geni.com/people/Patrick-Shalloe/6000000013343513996

did'nt find his death under that name so searched index as Patrick Shall* and found the 1956 death as Shallew, Army Pensioner

Yes - the Geni entry is ours but the date of death was a bit of an invention based of family stories
. It's really good to have the real date and place confirmed.  Thanks
