Lancashire online clerk has baptisms for children (Eliza 1845; Mary Anne 1852) born to Samuel and Dorothea/y Lomas of Dark Lane and he is an engineer.

I can track the family from what you have provided. This Samuel died sometime between the 1851 and 1861 census.
