Might be better to get the marriage certificate for Martha and James Bailey to see if she is listed as being a  widow
Perhaps they we not  married ?.....

You could also try the birth certificate for Alice or do you have that already ?

Ah yes I believe they came from my mother.

And she told me the other day that she didn't have anything on them.

Not sure if it is him or not but I've found a Thomas Williams that died 30th December 1865. He was buried at West Terrace Cemetery in Adelaide.

Unfortunately not much other information there.
