Aberdeen Death Informant Handwriting Decipher Please
« on: Monday 01 October 18 18:00 BST (UK) »
First off, thanks in advance for any thoughts in deciphering the "informant" section of my third great grandmother's death entry in Aberdeen, 1892.  I know very little regarding the family or origin of my 3rd GG - Margaret Meston (née McIntosh).  Despite having a son nearby, her informant was apparently a friend.  It also appears that someone added information, perhaps after-the-fact, in faint writing at the bottom of the informant box.  Any help in determining the names and location (Southfield ?) would be much appreciated!

Lyle

(5) Youngson?

Scotlands People lists a Thomas A. W. A. Youngson whose death, aged 79, was recorded in 1912 in Peterculter East.

Best wishes

Thanks so much to the both of you!  Yes, I believe you nailed it right on the head, Rockford.  I did some digging.  T.A.W.A. Youngson, Esq., was a solicitor and social advocate, including working on behalf of the poor.  His house was called Southfield in the very small village of Cults.  Hence, Southfields, Cults in the entry.  Seems likely there is no relation and that while perhaps he knew my 3rd GG, was possibly advocating for as she neared the end.  Thoughts?

I'd spotted Thomas Youngson on Scottish PO Directories -
