I also think it's June 13th.

Checked GRO births thinking too there may have been a Daniel that died, but none registered earlier.

Looks like he was 5 years old when christened.

Added: Does the father's occupation of 'publican' fit with what you have in the Censuses Daniel?

Hi Daniel and welcome to Rootschat!

I agree with Viktoria, I think the date is 13th June; and as Hallmark says, it is possible that an earlier son, Daniel, could have died.  Although it seems strange to us now, it was not at all unusual for subsequent babies to be named after those who had died young.  I have several instances of this in my family.

Regards

If he was 5 years old I'd be inclined to think the notation would have mentioned a year....
Give a man a record and you feed him for a day.
Teach a man to research, and you feed him for a lifetime.

I was thinking that too, since the others mention the dates of birth and the assumption is (rightly or wrongly) that they refer to the then current year.  If a five year old child was presented for baptism I too would assume there would have been some annotation to indicate this.  Not that it was very unusual for a child to be baptised some years after birth, but generally in such circumstances there would usually be a note to this effect.

Ahh....that wasn't mentioned!

So....he was 5 y.o.  nothing overly unusual about a baptism of a 5 y.o.

You're right - subsequent censuses confirm this too. I'll have to see if they were so tardy baptising the other children!

Wonder why Spencer wasn't included in baptism?
