From the GRO site

Have you found him in any census?

Based on the 1881 census with a daughter Clara, I thought it may be that these are related births and one may be the mother of Frederick.

You need to work backwards as you know his mother was a Tyler and her parents were Edward and Jane.

Looking at the 1871 census they had 4 daughters with them, Dora aged 14 and Jane aged 11 plus two who would be too young to be Frederick's mother. Dora married in 1876 but not to anyone called Stokes, so can be ruled out. Dora's mother's maiden name was TAYSOME according to the GRO.

You need to find the family in 1861 and see if there was another daughter.

Failing that you will need to get his birth certificate (£6 for a pdf version from the GRO) which will give both parents.

NB:   Faith's birth

TYLER, FAITH       TAYSOM
GRO Reference: 1866  J Quarter in HEREFORD & DORE  Volume 06A  Page 477

(so should be easier to trace than Jones.  ;D ;D)

Hi

I found a Jane taysome

Married a James 1848

He died

She then married

Edward Tyler

Gets more confusing by the minute

So if Jane had children before she married ( I found one )

That could be Frederick mother or one of her daughters with edward

Hi they could possibly be the TAYLOR family in 1861 Dorah Taylor 3, but odd stepchildren?
Census ref RG09/1820/84/5

Birth places of Edward/Jane look similar to 1871?
