Thomas Cleveland job 1851 census
« on: Wednesday 03 October 18 14:52 BST (UK) »
Hi everyone,

Trying to work out what the first of this says - I know the second says skinner. Other censuses have him listed as a fellmonger and a pedlar.

Many thanks

Could the first word be 'Journeyman' abbreviated?  There's a colon after it.

Looking at the original I wonder if it is a shortened form of Journeyman.  The entry above has the same word and this person is a hatmaker.

Thanks for the ref GG.

I would agree that it is probably an abbreviation for Journeyman
