What makes you think there are obituaries the vast bulk of people who die in England never have published obituaries though often their family members or friends may stand up at their funeral and give a short oral obituary.

For recent dates like these there is a good chance that a notice was published in a local newspaper. A good site for family notices is the British Newspaper Archive. They are still adding to their collection. You can do a free search and as a new registered user you get some free credits so if you find anything you can save it for free:-

I doubt that there would be a published obituary unless your people had a significant role in the local area. Many years ago, the local newspaper published submitted obituaries but that ceased.
However, paper published death notices within a few days of death, again if submitted but it was customary at the time you refer to. The paper is no longer published but the local archives might be able to do a look up in archived newspapers since you have dates.

You would be looking at the Oldham Evening Chronicle.

I think there's some confusion here about obituaries and family notices. I think the enquirer is looking for a notice not an obituary. Death notices are a lot more common than obituaries.

I agree Blue.
I was thinking Kieran was hoping for an obituary with personal details.
As I wrote, the then local paper published family death notices every day but stopped publishing obituaries unless it was a person of significance. At one time, the newspaper would publish obituaries if submitted.

Thanks for all your input. From what I have read you maybe call them family notices in Ireland we still call them obituaries but to me they are the same thing.
