Hi
does anyone have access to a list of Gretna marriages I am looking for the marriage of Mary Douglas b 1834 Kirkpatrick Flemming and John Sewell b carlisle 1828 I have been to Dumfries cant finde it there and to Carlisle nothing there this is my only hope

Runaway marriages are a pain!!!

This webpage lists all the custodians of the records for runaways.  Some would take a lot of tracking down  :(

I have access (at the library) to the Annan runaways as they have been transcribed.  I've posted the list from the index here...

There are 2 Douglas and one Sewel but they aren't on the same marriage so probably aren't yours.  In Annan these marriages appear in the normal parish register but that may not always be the case.

Somebody else may know of other transcripts?
