Annie Thomas, Cemmaes.
« on: Friday 05 October 18 17:07 BST (UK) »
I am having trouble locating the above Annie Thomas.

She is listed as living in the same residence as my 2x Great Grandmother, Elizabeth Evans in 1939 in Cwmlline, Cemmaes.

Elizabeth Evans 15th June 1851 Widow Disabled
Annie Thomas 5th December 1875 Married Household Duties

Elizabeth Evans, nee Francis, married David Evans on 14th August 1875 and together had 10 children that I can find, though in 1911 Elizabeth stated she had borne 14 children, 5 of which had died before 1911.

EVANS, ANNE       FRANCIS     Order
GRO Reference: 1875  D Quarter in DOLGELLEY  Volume 11B  Page 405

However - I thought I had found Anne married to John Henry Bishop in 1906 in Wandsworth, Surrey as there was an Anne Evans living in Seale, Surrey in 1901 her birth place given as Cwmllynam, Montgomeryshire. This Anne Bishop died Jan-Mar 1966 in Camberwell, aged 91.

I would like to find out if this Annie Thomas is Elizabeth's Daughter. Elizabeth died 16th March the following year, her brother John Francis registered the death.

Can anyone help  ??? ???

Buying a copy of the 1875 birth cert will give parents names and confirm if DoB matches the 1939 entry

Have you found Anne Bishop in 1939 so you can compare birthdates?

The Bishop/Evans marriage is online and her father was John Evans - not David

Right okay, I don't know how i missed that. That puts paid to the Evans-Bishop Annie then.

I shall have to try and locate the marriage of Anne/Annie Evans to Mr Thomas.

It's likely she was married pre-1911 or possibly even pre-1901 so finding her on those censuses may narrow down the marriage year
