Help finding this person
« on: Friday 05 October 18 19:45 BST (UK) »
Hello Everyone. I recently found an old post office savings book belonging to my great grandfather from the late 1930s. I only have a small amount of information about where he stayed when he lived in england. The address on the book is 21 woodside rd, Kingston on-Thames. I was hoping to find out where I could find out more information about who he lived/stayed with, if he married or had any children when he was there. If anyone can help point me in the right direction of where to start my search that would be great.

Welcome to Rootschat. Can you give us his name?

Try searching for him on the 1939 Register, which is on Ancestry and Find My Past. Because of copyright we are not allowed to give information from that.

And a warm welcome to Rootschat from me.

There is also the possibility of finding him on electoral rolls.  If you let us know his name we could help you in the search.

Philip

If he was your great grandfather - then either your grandmother or grandfather was his child so what was the name of your grandmother/grandfather and where and when were they born?

Hi and welcome from me too

Was he born in England or elsewhere?

If he was your great grandfather - then either your grandmother or grandfather was his child so what was the name of your grandmother/grandfather and where and when were they born?

He was born in Northern Ireland, and my grandmother(his daughter) is called Veronica and was born in Northern Ireland in 1943. He worked in England for a while but we think he might have had other children before my grandmother was born but we've never found anything concrete to prove that.
