Occupation on Naval Record
« on: Saturday 06 October 18 13:35 BST (UK) »
Hi,

Please could anyone possibly help me decipher the occupation on this naval record? I can work out 'Motor' but can't work out the second word?

I'm also struggling with the top ship name too?

Can anyone make these out?

Thank you  :)

Others got there before me!

The occupation looks like Motor Cleaner but I'm not sure that makes sense.

The "ship" is Impregnable but wrongly spelt Impregnible. It was actually a shore establishment at Devonport.

Thank you all for such a quick response!

I was thinking the same as all of you that it was Motor Cleaner, but had the same thought that it didn't really make sense.

I can see now that you've said it that the ship name is Impregnable - thank you!
