Richard Gibson bc 1899 Kentish Town
« on: Sunday 07 October 18 12:25 BST (UK) »
The above was, according to the 1911 census the son of Richard Kateley Gibson and Emily nee Wiber/Wyber; his parents married 12/12/1903 at St Pancras but I'm unable to find his birth or even his whereabouts at 1901? Richard Kateley has a considerable war record from 1899-1919 but  the pension record doesn't mention Richard as one of his children on it?

Could he be Emily's child and be baptised/registered as Wiber/Wyber if he was born about 4 years before the Richard & Emily married and Richard Snr is not his father or just born out of wedlock?

*ah edited - Jen got there before me!*

He's 14 months on the census and Emily is noted as a Domestic Servant and they are living with her mother also called Emily living at 16 Herbert Street, St Pancras

the only Wiber that seems to be born around then is Henry Richard Wiber who was registered at St Pancras in June Quarter 1900 although that would be a little late for Richard

I think you've found him as Henry Richard Wiber as according to the new Gro indices, his mmn isn't recorded. At 1901 looks like Emily forgot how old she was and her mother forgot her name should've been Jane not Emily?

According to 1939 register, he is in Ealing as Gibson b 14/3/1900 and married to Doris and maybe her middle initial is wrong as a Henry R W Gibson m Doris L Carter in 1922 Willesden; looks like he kept the W(iber) name?
