Thank you Jaybelnz, that has whetted my appetite.
I would love to see the treatment he gave to the Dambusters. I worked in a hotel in Lincoln when it was being filmed there and met all the stars. Do you know if it is available anywhere?

I think the Dambusters project has been shelved

Looking forward to seeing this tomorrow.  I didn't realise it was 3D, but they've flogged me 4 sets of glasses on top of the ticket price, so it better be!

As an aside, £53.80 for four tickets  :o

Interview with Mark Kermode and film maker Peter Jackson about They Shall Not Grow Old.

The care and trouble and techniques look amazing.  I am looking forward to seeing it tonight, and taking a hankie.

It is true that you can keep people alive by remembering them.  As we all do in our researches.

I truly agree with you, ordinary people who led humdrum lives very often,
nothing remarkable left by them but happy families ,and remembered acts of bravery and it was darned hard work for the most part.
They are worthy of remembrance and the black sheep in our families-?
well they may have caused unhappiness and discord but for the most part
most of our rellies were the salt of the earth to use an oft used phrase.

I always feel to remember them is to give them some measure of immortality.
The lost and neglected graves don’t really matter when those buried there are recorded names in their proper context, their family tree.
More strength to our elbows I say .
Viktoria.

Can't wait to see the film!! :D

One in cinema in my area was sold out but managed to get very last tickets at the second one tried.  :D  Phew!!

I have been told there is going to be a question and answer session at the end - not sure if I will be sticking around for that as will be relying on public transport.

Hope you all get lucky in obtaining tickets  in your areas.  It really is selling out like hot cakes!

It is not 3D at cinema I am going to.  Tickets £16.50 each - Jomot you got a bargain! :o

Just seen a small preview of the film,on tonight’s news.
I can’t believe it is original footage, such fresh young faces but Sir Peter
Jackson was interviewed and  explained about his Grandfather.
Gosh I am upset now.
It seems more connected to us in this form, those grainy monochrome pictures had the distance of time ,we knew they were real ,but this will be so much more easy for people to relate to, especially the younger ones.
Not children ,it will be too much for them I am sure.

Whilst it will be hard to watch what a priviledge it will be for those who can.
Will it be on general release ?
Viktoria.

Just looked back through posts and see it is to be shown on Armistice Day,
I will be in Belgium so it will have to be recorded.
