Yes thank you, I have information from 1861 onward, but I need to
know the names of James and Sarah's fathers.

Understood - but since you already know Sarah's mother's details, Sarah's age and birthplace and the fact they lived in Tadcaster, there is progress you can make on her father while you wait for the marriage certificate - or perhaps you've already done the legwork and the certificate is the only remaining piece in the jigsaw?

For what it is worth, Peter Gill who married Elizabeth Dixon in Pontefract on 17 March 1834 looks likely to me.  A possible death for him, aged 30, was registered in Tadcaster in Dec qtr 1842.

Sarah Ann Gill, mmn Dixon, birth reg Dec qtr 1841 York.

Baptised 21 Nov 1841 at All Saints, North St York - parents Peter & Elizabeth.

1841 census just before Sarah's birth:

Simpson's Row, York

Peter Gill 25 Farmer Y
Betsy do 25 Y
Mary do 6 Y
Michael do 3 Y
Ayr: Barnes, Wylie
Caithness: MacGregor
Essex: Eldred (Pebmarsh)
Gloucs: Timbrell (Winchcomb)
Hants: Stares (Wickham)
Lincs: Maw, Jackson (Epworth, Belton)
London: Pierce
Suffolk: Markham (Framlingham)
Surrey: Gosling (Richmond)
Wilts: Matthews, Tarrant (Calne, Preshute)
Worcs: Milward (Redditch)
Yorks: Beaumont, Crook, Moore, Styring (Huddersfield); Middleton (Church Fenton); Exley, Gelder (High Hoyland); Barnes, Birchinall (Sheffield); Kenyon, Wood (Cumberworth/Denby Dale)

Thank you !!! I had all of of that information, but hadn't found
the marriage of Peter Gill and Elizabeth Dixon.

Strangely enough it's a Dixon family (not the same one) that
I am researching.
