Professional  ??? ??? ???

That would be a bit vague, though.

I did wonder about Professor, but I can't make it fit...

Best regards,

Hi,

Looks to me like:

Profess none?
Profess Wid (Widow)?

Hope this helps.

Kind regards

David

It looks as though the same person made all the entries, but there are big differences in the letters. If I am seeing it correctly, two of the entries are "house work". One has a hyphen, the other doesn't and if they weren't in the same list together, I would never have thought they said the same thing. The first one looks more like "Itase North"!

Looking again at "Dress maker", it could well be "ss" in the middle of the unknown word(s).

Crumbs. And I thought my handwriting was sloppy..!

Hi,

Looks to me like:

Profess none?
Profess Wid (Widow)?

Having looked again, I believe that they both say 'Profess Wid' the second s of the first entry runs into the w of wid.

It is indeed a double ss in the middle of the unknown words. Your also right in that the handwriting isn't the best, but then I can't talk, mine isn't the best either! :-X ;D

Hope this helps.

Kind regards

David

Hello -

I would read those as very badly written Professional.

Thanks everyone
I think I will have to go with professional but still don't know what that means they did?
I included some of the other words to compare as the writing is so terrible  as you all said.

I don't know which year this census was taken or where it was taken but you might try another year for this family and see if the occupation is more clear.
