John Saunders, maltster of Strand on the Green, seems to have been a prominent citizen of Chiswick - probably not the Saunders that the OP and Whitmore are looking for.

There can be quite a lot of paperwork related to convicts.

Do you have all of this from any Australian records if that is where he came from prior to moving on to NZ?

Have you asked for help on the Australian boards?
