Margaret Fisken
« on: Monday 15 October 18 18:06 BST (UK) »
Hi,
Trying to find details of the above person born 20-02-1807 in Perth Scotland.
Found birth and baptism records. Cannot find marriage/death/census records.
Also found in the "Caledonian Mercury" 14 July 1836 a conviction for stealing and sentenced to 7 years transportation.
How do I try to prove that they are one and the same person?
All suggestions welcome

I found a Fisken family in Stamfordham, Northumberland in 1861,
William aged 45, a Presbyterian Minister, his unmarried sister Margaret aged 50 and a niece Flora Fisken aged 20.
William and Margaret born in Scotland.

FamilySearch has the baptism of Margaret with parents Thomas and Elizabeth (Gray).  They also have a son William baptized 18th September 1812, which fits with the census ages.
In 1871 they are still in the same place, joined by another brother David, whose baptism can also be found on FamilySearch son ofThomas and Elizabeth.

Hi, bevj
Thanks for that. I didn't look at English census returns.
I have all Margaret's relatives as she is my 5 times great aunt.
Some of the ages given are a bit sus. David was born 1802. Margaret 1807. William 1812.
Once again thanks for that, I can now forget about the one who was transported.
Looks like more work (or pleasure) to follow up on some of the other Fiskens.
Regards
Bob.
