DNA Results, - how do I download a GED File?
« on: Monday 15 October 18 22:04 BST (UK) »

I finally took an Ancestry DNA Test, - and have just had the results back; which are very puzzling...

Can anyone please tell me how I unload a GED file from them to upload? (Is this the 'Raw DNA' part of the result?)

Cheers, Romilly.

Hi Romilly

Do you mean your DNA file?

It will be a zip file. You don't meed to open it to upload to other sites.

Many Thanks Gadget, - I will give it a go...

It would seem from my results that I have far more Scottish DNA than I thought:-) I just wish I knew where it came from!

Very puzzling... ::)

It usually starts off quite broad and then, when they match more people with you, it get's narrower. It's only an estimate.

The real info is your matches.

I wasn't clear whether you wanted to download your DNA results or a tree. For your tree it would be:

Thanks again, - I'm going to leave it all until the morning, when hopefully I will be able to make more sense of it!

Romilly :)
