help with 1939 register
« on: Tuesday 16 October 18 23:44 BST (UK) »
Hi

I was wondering if anyone could help me with the enumeration districts in the 1939 England and Wales Register.  I have the address where my relatives lived but they don't show up when I search by their names.  I want to search the registry itself but was hoping someone could help me narrow the search.  When you search on ancestry the enumeration districts have numerical symbols rather than a name for the district. The address I am looking for is 57 Penrhys Ystrad. Pentre Rhonda Glamorgan.
Do you know what district Pentre would be in?  Thanks for any help you can give me.
Regards
Vivien

Do you mean 57 Penrhys Road in Rhondda? I don't see many other options.

It would be Penrhys Road, Ystrad, Rhondda. Pentre is further up but as larger Ystrad falls under the Pentre postal address.

Hi Shaun

If that address makes more sense than yes I think I do mean that.  I live on the west coast of Canada so am not familiar with the Rhonda valley.  I found Handel and Lily Phillips on Findmypast last year . and that's the information I wrote down at the time but I just can't find them on Ancestry using their name.  Thanks for your reply.

Found them.  Thanks everyone for all your help.  I've corrected the Registry on Ancestry.
