The amount of fresh vegetables to fresh beef is not good is it?
About as twice as much beef to veggies.
At this time it was recognised that Vitamin C was so important to prevent scurvy, yet seemingly no limes, lemons or oranges are mentioned .
Greens do provide some but soon diminishes if overboiled and also with time.
What was the muster ? How much beef for each man?
I must read your post again for the time between taking on more meat and veggies .
By my calculations that is 784 lbs of fresh beef in 11 days .
And the  muster is 9?
How would that keep, salted probably and how long would it last both in freshness and the amount served each day.?
How interesting, thanks.
Viktoria.

Viktoria.

When they were in harbour they took on that much meat and veges EVERY day. Muster was 315.  The 9 refers to the time of day ie 9am.
I only put up the posts that had people’s names in incase someone is interested in the future.

I’ve not done much transcribing when at sea yet, a few pages a day is my limit, but menu seems to be salt pork and peas. And Rum.

Nice painting here with huge iceberg in back ground
