I have tried the Market Drayton Library ( three doors from where Thomas was living ) and they do not a have a copy of the 1960 newspapers . Neither does the  Newspapers' Archive  nor does Shopshire Archive. Can anyone please help !!!

You don't mention any 'newspaper names' for anyone trying to help you

Have you tried the British library to see if they have it in their collection but not digitised.

It is also possible that there is no obituary.

It depends on your defintion of 'obituary'.

Many "family notices" are placed advising the date of death and place of funeral but these are getting fewer and further between each year

An obituary (full life and times) would only appear in the paper if the deceased was a person of note.

What are you trying to establish?
