A bit of an ask please - Barnards to Buckhursts
« on: Tuesday 23 October 18 16:03 BST (UK) »
Hi, I realise this is a little cheeky, but I'm hoping someone might be able to give me a hand. I was recently given a set of descendants going back further than I'd gone, but I don't have any sources to confirm, nor a subscription to any service to verify. I had got as far back as the Thomas Barnard below (b.1767). If anyone were able to corroborate any of the new names I've been given as accurate, I'd be extremely grateful  ;D

*Margaret Buckhurst b.1532
*Katherine Humfry (nee Buckhurst) b.1549 (her daughter)
*Nicholas Humfry (b.1586) (her son)
*John Humphrey (his son)
*Anne Barnard (nee Humphrey) (b.1642) (his daughter)
*Richard Barnard (b.1677) (her son)
*Thomas Barnard (b.1732-35) (his son)

*Thomas Barnard (b.1767) (his son)
*Caroline Hall (Barnard) (b.1810) (his daughter) - my 3 x great-grandmother, and Hall is the maiden name of my paternal grandmother.

Thanks for any help anyone can provide.
Best wishes,
Jon.

Id check with your local library to see what they can give you free access to.

Many do provide Ancestry (Library edition)

Do you have the birth/baptism date and place for Thomas BARNARD b1767?

FreeReg has a Thomas son of Thomas & Ann bapt 22 Oct 1769 Pulborough - but I don't want to go down the wrong track!

I said that Thomas had a twin brother John

burial of a Thomas Barnard in 1826

and possibly mentioned that there is a will proved at Lewes, 12 Oct 1826, of a Thomas Barnard of Brighton, cordwainer
