« on: Thursday 11 August 05 22:41 BST (UK) »
Could some kind soul please look up this family for me

says he is 42 on the 1841 but think he should be a bit older than that. He was married in 1812 !!
Margaret Heldreich
says she is 36 again should be older she was 67 on the 1861 census
Should have children of Elizabeth b. 1830, John, 1836 Margaret 1838.

They were living Upper Brook street, St Alkmund Derby 1841
and 12 Merchant street, St Werburgh Derby in 1861

Oh Thanks again Sunflower,

You are wonderful this is great Margaret  was a widow in 1861 so I would say she was a widow in 1851 which helps narrow  things down.  Thanks so much.

All the best Angela.

Hi, I'm a Heldreich by birth. Otto Ernst von Heldreich was my ancestor. He fought in the Penninsular wars (Napoleon), was captured by the British and brought over to England and billeted in an Inn in Ashbourne, Derbyshire. In those days, officers were not imprisoned but allowed to wander around freely, as they were on their honour not to try to escape. He was the second son of a Baron, but married one of the Innkeeper's daughters, Margaret Whittiker and never returned home. The book you are after, my family history, in one of your other posts, was written by my brother Graeme, who passed away 4 years ago. It was printed privately, so you won't find it in a bookshop. You can probably buy a copy from his sons, Richard, Edward and Johnathan, my nephews.
