WILLS in Wiltshire
« on: Monday 02 August 04 04:48 BST (UK) »
Hello List,
Can anybody tell me how I go about getting a copy of a will?  I found an entry the Library that gives me a Volume, Doc No and date written of a will but how do I obtain a copy that can be posted back to Australia? Is there a website I can order it from?

Cheers

PRO archives http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/familyhistory/
have access to  Wills from 1384 to 1858 (free search, charged download.)

If your will is not there, try contacting the Wiltshire and Swindon Record Office - http://www.wiltshire.gov.uk/mainindex/heritage/wsro.htm#top
There is an email address buried somewhere amid the information.

Census information is Crown Copyright, from www.nationalarchives.gov.uk
