I am looking for connections to or any help with my ancestors below and would also be glad to share any other info that I have on these families:

John Thom & Elizabeth Tait children - married 1 June 1805 Craigie by Kilmarnock
Their 2 known children:
Helen Thom m Robert WRIGHT (Grocer & Coal Merchant Rothesay) married 22 August 1825 Rothesay, Bute
John Thom b c1808 (died in Madeira, Portugal)

The Robert Wright who married Helen Thom 1825 in Rothesay, Bute (are my ggg grandparents)
His parents - William Wright and Elizabeth Drinnan
married c1795 Tarbolton?
William's parents - William Wright & ??
William's parents - Robert Wright & Martha Morton
married 1733 Kilmarnock
(Martha's parents maybe John Morton/Grizel Barter)
Robert's parents - John Wright & Marion Tannahill
married 1691 Kilmarnock
(Marion's parents maybe John Tannahill & Janet Thompson)

Just found your posting. There are quite a number of "Wright" and some "Drinnan" buried in tarbolton cemetery, but they are all much more recent than your William and Elizabeth.
As I posted on this site, I have the book of Tarbolton cemetery inscriptions, if I can be of any help. (rather a lot that MIGHT apply to type them all out!) so if you come nearer in time to the present time, I may be able to help a little.

I`m very interested in your post, as I think I have just traced a link back to the John Wright and Marion Tannahill to whom you refer. As far as I can discover, their children were: Charles 1699, William 1705 (my ancestor - great x 5 grandparent), and Robert 1708 (whom you mention). Very keen to pursue this line of enquiry with you.

going by their marriage cert, I would say that for John Thom the 1st one is most likely his as it is the same place he is from on cert. As for Elizabeth, it would be a matter of finding more information. Hope this helps, Kim
