Hi all

Sorry about the long subject heading.

My aunty is heading over to Ireland in the next 2 weeks and will be visiting Kerry where our ancestors are from.

I have an area where our Patrick Grady was born in 1834 in Tarbert ,Kerry and his parents. Also I have him marrying a Julia Hennessey in approx 1860 and then coming out to Australia in 1860 and settling in Western Australia. I also have Julia's parents and approx birth date.

My dilemma is seeing that I have this info where do I tell my Aunty to start looking.

Sorry if this sounds like a stupid question I would just love to give my Aunty some pointers and ideas before she leaves for Ireland.

Any help would be appreciated thanks.

Kind regards Troods

Hi,

Am I too late to offer some ideas?

Go to the parish priest in the parish where you know he was born and ask if they have parish records.

Do you know where the marriage took place? The religion? If not Anglican, the marriage took place before the start of general registration in 1864.

If you know Julia's parents, you could try the Griffith Valuation.
