Cork 'Butler'
« on: Friday 19 August 05 08:29 BST (UK) »
In the 1861 English census, a relation's (Daniel Linahan, born c1830) birthplace is listed as 'Cork Butler, Ireland', the only place I can find on a modern map is Butlerstown on the coast. Is there any other possible place it could be in Cork before I make a trip to Ireland to do some research?

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi,

I think it must be butlerstown near Clonakilty. Try http://www.thecore.com/seanruad/ and put in butler anywhere in field in Co Cork,

Kate,

Many thanks for your reply, with computer crashes and holidays this is the first chance I have had to thank you.
