Hi Debbie,

According to my records, Stephen CRESSWELL and Hannah BROUGH (m: 8 Jul 1805 Denby DBY) had at least six children, Enoch (1814), Micah (1816), Quinton (1818), Jedediah (1820), Napthali (1822) and Elizabeth (1830).

Jedediah CRESWELL (bapt. 3 Dec 1820 Denby DBY) moved to the Ashby de la Zouch area of Leicestershire in the early 1840s, and married Sarah Ann STARKEY (c1821-1909) in 1842.  They had several children as follows:
- Elijah CRESSWELL (c1842-1917) m: Sarah CAMPION (1840-1903)
- Daughter CRESSWELL (?)
- Mary Jane CRESSWELL (c1850-1921) m: William EYLEY (1857-1906)
- Sarah Ann CRESSWELL (c1853-1919) m: George FAIRBROTHER (c1853-1917)
- John Henry CRESSWELL (1857-) m: Ann(e) LUNN (1845-1922)
- Albert E. CRESSWELL (c1863-) m: Eliza

From about 1855 onwards, the family lived in Church Gresley, Derbyshire.  I should point out that I am not closeley related to this family, but have researched them because they are connected with several other South Derbyshire families.  If you need anything further about the family, just say the word  :)

Regards and best wishes,

I am a descendant of Stephen Cresswell & Hannah Brough, are you sure of the parents you have cited for him?

Stephen was baptised in 1783, Denby Derbyshire son of Joseph.
The marriage of a Joseph Cresswell to Sarah Elliott was not until 11 Feb 1799 (16 years after Stephen was born), so not his parents.

Hi. Enoch Cresswell is my grandfather x3. I am getting confused about his marriages and deaths.
I found a death for a Selina Cresswell in 1947. But then saw that one of the Rootchat messages stated a 2nd marriage, a marriage that I knew about but couldnt find a name. However, since seeing these posts I have found Enoch to Sarah Guest but that marriage was before the date that Selina died??

Does anyone have clarification about these facts?

Many thanks

Bridget
