How do I obtain information regarding someone who was deported
in the 1940's.
Maria

Some deportation data is on the national archives site - use the record search at www.naa.gov.au

Thanks but is that only for Australian subjects, I am looking for deportees from uk to greece.

- look at number 11.  You will need to know the year of deportation (unless you can access the records at the PRO yourself or find a researcher willing to search several years for you.)

If you don't get anywhere with any of the above, you might try the Red Cross directly:

I read about this source in conjunction with researching German internees in WW1.  It seems that this is not an easy source to find things in, but, if you are totally stuck, might be worth a try.
