I am looking for family details for a William Strange.  In 1861 the family is shown as William 55, Elizabeth 53, John 20, Thomas 16, Jane 8 and Fanny 1 (grand daughter).  The address is shown as Stockley in the district of Calne.

I had a look on www.streetmap.co.uk to check the address name and found Tossels farm just outside the hamlet of Stockley.

I know that this is an old post but William Strange is my direct descendant and I have a lot of information about this family.

The census information gives his birth place incorrectly as Poole, Wiltshire. The correct district is Poole , Dorset. This has been confirmed by information now available to me.
