Hi
I'm looking for information on Patrick Gibbons c,1848 and Margaret Kerrigan c, 1848. Their 1st child John was born dec 1868 in Westport Co Mayo, he was baptised Jan 6th 1869.The family moved to northeast England sometime before the birth of their 2nd child Thomas [ my grandfather] dec 1870. I know nothing of their life before they came to England so would appreciate any information.

Do you know what Patrick did in Westport or when he went to England? Gibbons, as you probably know is fairly common in Mayo.

Patrick Gibbons worked as a labourer in England, not sure what he did in Ireland.He came to England sometime before 14 dec 1870 when my grandfather Thomas was born.Patrick and Margaret went on to have another 8 children most of them born in Sunderland Durham England.
